"Delta squad we have reports of a prison carry about to meet on your route full of human civilians. We need you to intercept and get them to the western check point, and look sharp there are Locust out in the area and several escorting the prison vehicle!"

The transmission cut out and Cole, Baird, and Dom looked to Marcus for orders, lock and loading as they were ready to move out.

I listened to what was being said and then I looked around at my squad... Cole and Dom you go left and Baird and I will go this way. Stay sharp and alert and we will meet at the middle" I said to my squad and then headed out.

Getting there they found drones guarding the prison transports heading for a locust hollow hole to go underground and below the planets surface.

I seen a locust hole where there was locusts coming out of. I grabbed a grenade from my side and I swung it and got it right into the hole. I watched the hole close and no more locusts could come out. I looked around to make sure that no one was hiding out before we moved forward. "All clear move forward men!" I said then I turned around and seen Baird right behind me... "Are you ready?" I asked him.

He nodded and moved in with him shooting locust as they moved. Getting to the prison transport and ripping it open baird got the people moving but there was a secondary sealed coffin like prison case that Dom worked to get open as he provided him cover."Damn it's like they didn't want this opening."

I helped get the people safely into a building until we could get them moved to the next safety spot.

I helped them watch the back of the truck then I called up to Baird, "Hey I can stay here with Dom, if you would like to go and help Marcus keep them safe, and you are a better at covering people in a bigger area.." I said to him, knowing that he knew that he was the best one that we had for covering people in a larger place.

He went with a nod. Covering Marcus as he went. Locust moved in though cutting off Cole and Dom from them but two locust backed off suddenly yelling in their language to get out of the truck as Dom yanked Cole with him taking cover as the truck blew up. Blazing, Dom pulled cole looking to Marcus as he took cover. "Dude hide! She's comin!"

"Cole and Baird go take these people to the other side of the building and underneath to the basement put something against the door, me and Dom will take care of this, she is not going to get into this building." I said to them as they started to escort them down to the basement, and then I looked over to Dom, "Are you ready to fight like your lift depends on it, and remember if this is too much for you, then going further is just going to get worse. Ready? Because here they come." I said to him just as I heard the basement door close the something being shoved against it.

Dom looked at him. "It's not them i'm worried about Marcus it's the woman I just released." Listening they could hear the drones yell out only to hear Locust screams of death and agony. Baird looked at Dom." Who's she?" One of the survivors they had shivered. "She's the latest project of the Colonel's. Loki."

As he said those last words, a swarm of the locusts came and we started firing shots. We had to keep those women safe if it was the last thing we did.

Dom suddenly pulled Marcus back from getting hit but looked to find the Locust bearing down on them stopping short yanking on the chain around his neck only to come off his feet and through the pillars. Some swung out from the chain and landed braced. Looking up suddenly, she had a form fitting and slim suit, splitting at the toes, special shin guards and arm guards to a antiquated but rare Kevlar weaved glove and arm bracer set. Twin objects sheathed along her thighs, one long one at her back and hidden weapon compartments. Hair as black as night with eyes of strange white gold with even stranger rings in them of the color. Ears pierced twice with a cuff in the left, her cheeks having tattoo tribal that swept back to the ends of her eyebrows where metal did the same on her cheeks. moving suddenly she flipped catching a locust in the face he came off his feet and she landed to kick back snapping it's neck and spinal system. Spinning around on her heel specialized pulse guns coming free and snapping together she fired and strode forward ignoring the returned fire.

She ejected the clips and threw up the guns as knives came up around her chiming and she threw them not missing her marks pulling the new cartridge clips and they slid home lock and loading as she fired, running and sliding across the floor into a downed chair it righted and spun on it's leg time freezing for a fraction it seemed before catching up and firing. Flipping off and several times as she caught air, bullets going below her then above and below in her spin. Landing the guns holstered, she pulled the back sheathe it disengaged into a sword, bracing it along her forearm and up the blade made her eyes glow in the reflected light and she moved suddenly blade in constant motion repelling fire shouting move commands to civilians who got the hell out of her way cutting several bullets down the quick they reflected to the balconey behind her and took three locust snipers. Falling back in her slide she passed a locust that she cut down and spun around to catch the locust leader and impaled him he went to his knees , eyes on each other she twisted it and pulled the locust coughed blood and fell dead. The room now silent she twirled the sword and sheathed it at her back and side glanced Baird and Cole. Her tags indicated she was a Gear.

I was amazed at this girl but I was not surprised that she was this good when I seen that her tags said she was a tag. "So are you sticking around, or was that all. We all could have done something like that if we wanted but more so with guns and less with swords as you will see if you stick with us. But I am not sure if we really need a female in our group. It is pretty full and I am content with what I have and this is my squad." I said to her, I was not sure about her and not sure if I wanted her in my quad or not. She was a female, and not that females weren't strong but I just didn't need the emotional and whatever drama with the squad. I would have this think about this while we got the people to safety.

I listened to every word that Marcus has said and I knew what he was saying was true. We really didn't need anymore people and adding someone new would mess up all of tactics and stuff. "And if you join us it is going to mess up the plans and everything. Marcus though, I am going to leave this up to you though, since you are boss." I said and awaited his response.

"Well I am not too sure yet, I am thinking that maybe she could just be an onlooker and she could be a scout for us, and she can do stuff for us as it is needed, like if we need an extra sniper or something, she can be our sub in... Everyone okay with that?" I asked him.

I wasn't quite sure about his idea, but then he has never steered any of us wrong and even if so I would stand by him no matter what. So I nodded my head and raised my hand and said, "I am right behind you boss, whatever you say I am going to stick with you no matter. Good or bad." And then I walked over and stood beside him.

"Anyone else?" I asked.

One of the mortal wounded locust hissed. "You...your the human the queen wanted..." it coughed blood though she didn't respond. "The human infused with the energy we seek but engineered with Locust blood."

She looked at the locust and her eyes dilated. "I was born in Gear Locust to be your hunter. I am neither locust or human." She looked forward ignoring the team. "I was human once but I gave that up long ago and my name. I am Designation Loki 12, 12th human experiment of the Gear Labs. I feel nothing Marcus Fennix. We children of the labs are the new weapons still not approved of your government." She moved suddenly kicking Cole off his feet and went down with him as a hidden Locust brought down a steel shard like a blade. Cole looked to the side to see she had moved her head, it was through her hand that was braced on the locust's hand. Blood down the steel, she hadn't cried out at all. Face still emotionless. She brought up her hand and hit the steel it shattered and sent her boot into the locust that stumbled back into the pillar of the wall as she flipped back yanking the steel out and running reaching the locust she hit central nervous system points and gripped the belt of the locust as she got him in a head lock and lifted arching her body the locust was upside down and kicking and she suddenly curved her body in take down slamming it into the floor the marble cratered and she shifted braced and had it's head arching back and pulling snaps sounded out as it screamed and she broke him with no remorse and no change of expression. Letting go as it moved in death throws she got up and grabbed Cole's arm and hand pulling him up, letting go. "Sometimes you can save the bullets and still be effective." Cole grabbed her arm and she stopped to look at him sharply. He made a gesture of no harm and reached in his kit and started wrapping her hand she didn't react to the pain. She was so void or controlled it was downright errie. Baird looked at Marcus. "Dude this isn't right." He gestured to Loki, he couldn't believe the Gear techs would do this to their fellow soldiers.

I met up with the others and brought them over to the girl." "She is going to be joining us and fighting with us. Sorry what was your name?" I asked her and then stood back with the guys.

Oh boy a girl on our team. This should be not a good thing. I hope that hormones and such will not go out of whack. I personally am not attracted to woman or men. I have pledged to be always by myself. I love my job and I don't want anything to jeporidze it or to leave a family behind. Cole thought to himself.

I am Loki 12." She said flat out and she snipped four locust from the towers after saying so and was emotionless even when she strangled and broke one with her bare hands sending shivers down Cole's spine. Right now holding out the survivors had been transported. She was sitting cross legged and hand her wrists rested on her knees, upright with half closed eyes, her locust like eyes were dilated and it was as if she was seeing and hearing things they couldn't. Learning her story from Intel they learned she was the last Loki the other 11 were rather destroyed by Locust who had dissected them trying to figure them out like lab rats or killed by the Colonel himself put in deep freeze, only four were unaccounted for and one of them was in their team. Living weapons, loyal gears made into living weapons and tossed and murdered by their fellow gears and the enemy because the government found out about it. Technically Loki was probably going to be detained and killed when this was over.

I got everyone to meet each other and shake hands. I then looked over to my left and seen that there was a number of Locusts coming, I then looked back at my men.
"Okay guys listen up. Dom you will come with me and we will go up top over there, and Loki 12 you can go with Baird and Cole. You guys go down that way, we will cover your back from the top. Be safe and try not to be too hard on her." I said to them and then started up the hill with Dom. We arrived at the top and we killed the locusts that were up there. We then pulled out our snipers and we watched the others through our scopes so we could cover their backs while they fought. "Are you ready for this? Because I think the deeper we get the more ugly it is going to get." I asked him.

Dom concentrated down his scope's sight. "Ready as i'll ever be. But tell me honestly, what do you think of her. I can't believe they would sign off for experimental soldiers. She's a gear that was forced into that experimental program. She's of us at the core."

The others moved in and started taking down enemies closest silently to catch more of them off guard when they finally attacked.

[color:79c5=red]"She might be of us at the core, but that doesn't mean anything, she isn't just GEAR anymore and that is something that we most definately must be careful of, even if she works with us for years, something could happen and the Locust in her could come out. I just don't want you guys to get attached to her. I cannot risk losing any of you guys, especially after what happened to Tai. That was just very unfair and very cruel. I do not want to lose any more of you guys to those stupid Locusts, even if that means that I must die myself." I said to him and then looked down my sniper scope and I started sniping off the Locusts that were trying to sneak up on my men that were below. "And I am not sure why they would sign her off to be an experiment, unless she signed up for it. If she signed up for it, or she signed up to GEAR for experimental reasons then yes it makes complete sense to me, but if she didn't then I am not too sure at all. And I am sure that depending on who we ask we will get two completely different stories." I looked down my scope just in time to see a Locust almost slice off Dom's head, and with a quick pull of the trigger, the bullet when right into the Locusts head. I seen Dom turn around and give me the thumbs up sign. I gave one back knowing that he couldn't see it. It was great knowing that I could count on all of my men to never betray me.


There was Locust all around. I almost got silently killed by one but I heard him at the last second and ducked and then I looked behind me and he was dead. I turned and gave the thumbs up sign. I knew it was Marcus, only someone like that could shoot that good, while the Locust was already slowly falling down because I had thrown him off guard. I hoped that we could move on passed this part and get a little break. But then that would probably be asking for a little too much. I moved on with the rest of the group. An experiment that was both GEAR and Locust. What were they thinking? I would have to ask Marcus about it later.

Loki 12 waited in the wings watching locuts, eyes strangely gleaming. Running suddenly and off the tower she pulled twin guns and fired taking locust out cable snapping taught at her combat belt she flipped and it came off landing. Tackling Marcus and Dom with the cable, especially Marcus. Taking off a Locust head. Turning her shoulder was red from being shot taking one for Marcus. Looking to him she nodded and stepped over up onto the ledge, running on it and drawing fire away from their sniper points stepping off and dropping beside Cole. moving and protecting his flank. She moved harder and faster to run with Baird and keep him covered. Dom looked at Marcus for a moment in the exchange, eyes clearly stating his conflict. She was pretty damn loyal to take a bullet for a fellow gear like that. She moved with them as a unit, no theatrics, but a shield for a fellow Gear.

"Things are going to get rough around here, I can see it now, and people are going to get competitive and I don't want that happening in my group and I know soon that it is going too and it will probably be with Baird, but I am not sure, but he is like that. I am not sure if I am accepting of it, when and if we get a chance where we aren't surrounded by locusts I am going to have a talk with everyone. Judas, I am not sure how this is going to turn out. Maybe this was a bad idea, and why did they give her to us out of all the groups?" I said saying that last part out loud and not meaning to.

I looked at her and then seen her go. She was gone in a blink of an eye. She was taking over, which I knew would not be okay in Marcus' eyes, and if anything he would be the one to say something ... oh boy this could get interesting. Taking over is not the best idea. I followed behind the watched her back and she tried to watch Bairds.

Loki moved always on look out. They got to the checkpoint. When Marcus called it in to the higher ups and the colonel he heard the silence at reporting a Loki then he got the order that if she survived to the pick up zone to make sure she didn't make it to said zone. When Marcus made an accusation question he learned the cold truth. She was the 12th and only survivor of 30 Gears they had pulled from the medical ward and experimented on. Her name was Embrant Maxwell and she had been only 18 when they pulled her from the field medics into the lab. She and the others hadn't consented at all. The transmission was cut and Loki came into the area reporting a spot for the night to hold up that was safe before they could head out. "A storm is coming it wouldn't be wise I think to be caught out in the open." She looked to Marcus seeking his own approval or disapproval of the idea. Looking at her now he realized she was only 19. Embrant was still there hiding inside from others. She was still a gear. Wincing a bit with her shoulder from taking a bullet for Marcus she looked up at the sky at a clap of thunder and the feeling of light rain.

"Dom please get her cleaned up and then I agree that we must take shelter until the storm blow over, we have enough cover here, and we can all take turns watching the shelter so that no one dies and that no locusts get in." I said to then watched Dom tend to her.

"Marcus I think that we should have a group talk after, about our jobs and positions, especially if she was going to stay with us." Tai said to him seriously.

Loki let herself be tended and only by order did she take a nap like Dom ordered her to as well as Baird who leaned against her back to back and both slept. It left Marcus alone with Dom and Cole along with Tai. Baird seemed a tad attached to Embryant she had saved his ass and theirs.

Baird woke up from a clap of thunder and blinked but looked to the side and back to feel and see Loki still sleeping. He had to admit she was attractive but not just that she was a good GEAR and he didn't agree to what had been done to her. Settling more against her he closed his eyes and listened to the rain and her breathing to slowly fall asleep.
