In most of Canada, Family Day is a statutory holiday occurring on the third Monday in February. In the provinces of Manitoba and Prince Edward Island, the statutory holiday on this date is instead termed Louis Riel Day and Islander Day, respectively. This corresponds with Presidents Day in the United States.

The third Monday in February is a regular working day in British Columbia, Quebec, New Brunswick, Nova Scotia and the territories. As Family Day is not currently recognized in the federal sphere, federal employees in all provinces (such as public servants and postal workers) still work on this day. In Newfoundland and Labrador, the third Monday of February is a school board holiday, but not an official provincial holiday.

We get it off. Well my mom doesn't this year but that is because she chose not to get it off and if my dad was to work it then he would get paid double time and a half. It is a pretty good holiday, another reason why we got this holiday was because we have Statuary holidays in every month except for February so they decided to give us a holiday in February! Even my sister gets it off of school! YIPPPPEEE! <3

Thanks hun. It really stinks that we had to go to school no matter what it was.
That for taking the time and putting stuff upon the forums for this.

See that really would suck, but here where we live we don't have to go to school or work on that day! It was nice to have a day off. Even though I do all my courses online, I still got that day off because the teachers did too. Even though most of that day I just did school work but oh well. Then the hubbie came over and looked after me which was good too Very Happy
